Android AR 360 Car DVR

10.36″ Android Car DVR with AR 360 Bird-View

A portrait Android screen that stitches a 360 bird-view from small panoramic cameras and overlays a wireframe of the vehicle so nothing on the body blocks the view. Calibrated in about ten minutes, not a morning.

Overview

A 360 view that shows through the vehicle

A surround view is only useful if the body does not get in the way of it. The A9AR builds an AR around-view that renders the vehicle as a wireframe model, so the driver sees through the shell to the kerb, the wheels and anyone standing close, with mini panoramic cameras stitched into one seamless picture on the 10.36-inch portrait screen.

The part that wins over a fitter is the calibration. Where a traditional 360 takes a morning with a calibration cloth on the ground, this one aligns remotely in around ten minutes, which matters when a whole van fleet has to be done. It runs Android with 4G, WiFi and GPS for remote viewing and tracking, Bluetooth for calls and music, and loops recording to a card up to 256GB or a 500GB SSD.

See through the bodywork

The AR view draws the vehicle as a wireframe inside the stitched surround image, so the body never hides what is beside it. The driver judges the kerb, a tight gap or a pedestrian by looking past a see-through model rather than around a solid blind spot.

Remote calibration of the 360 system in about ten minutes

Calibrated in ten minutes

Traditional 360 calibration means laying out a patterned cloth and working around the vehicle, the better part of a morning per unit. This system aligns remotely in roughly ten minutes with no cloth, which is the difference between fitting one van and fitting a fleet.

Android connectivity, Bluetooth and remote app on the car DVR

Connected and easy to live with

Android underneath means 4G, WiFi and GPS for remote viewing and tracking through the app and CMSV6, Bluetooth for hands-free calls and music, and USB media playback. The mini cameras are IP68 starlight units on aviation connectors, sealed for the weather.
