A forklift in a busy warehouse is a hazard to everyone around it, and the driver cannot watch all sides at once. The K20L is built for that problem: three 77GHz radars cover the blind spots out to 20 metres, paired with three LED warning lights that talk to the people on foot rather than only the operator. It runs entirely on its own, with no cellular or WiFi link to set up or maintain.
The lights work in two stages. A steady blue beam projected onto the floor marks the danger zone so a worker sees it before they walk in, and the moment the radar detects someone inside it, a red strobe and a buzzer fire. It is a layered warning, one for the bystander and one for the driver, and the radar reads through the dust, dark and clutter of a warehouse where a camera would struggle.
The blue beam draws the keep-out zone on the floor so a worker on foot knows where the forklift’s danger area ends, before they ever cross it. When the radar sees someone enter that zone, the light switches to a red strobe and the buzzer sounds, so the warning escalates exactly when it has to.
Three 77GHz units watch the blind spots around the machine out to 20 metres, picking out people, vehicles and obstacles, including moving targets, with a configurable detection length and width. Mounted at around three to four metres on the forklift, they cover the zones the operator cannot see from the seat.
The system needs no network: it senses and warns on its own, indoors or out, day or night. The radars are IP67 and rated to a -40 to +85°C range, the lights sit in aluminium and stainless housings, and detection ranges switch quickly, so it suits a production line fit across a fleet of machines.
