Plenty of vehicles already have a screen, a radio or a navigator that can show a reverse view; what they need is a camera that fits it and holds up. The DC905 outputs both CVBS and AHD over a standard RCA video lead, so it drops onto an OEM navigator, an aftermarket radio or a DVD head unit without an adaptor hunt.
The body is sealed metal rated IP68 and built to take a knock, with a working range of -20 to 75°C, so it survives where a plastic camera cracks or fogs. Twelve infrared LEDs light the scene behind the vehicle after dark, and wide dynamic range keeps the picture readable when a bright sky sits over a shaded loading bay.
Twelve IR LEDs throw enough light for a clear reverse image when there is none of your own, which is exactly when a low kerb, a bollard or a person is hardest to spot. The wide dynamic range holds detail through the glare of a reversing light or a low sun.
With selectable CVBS or AHD output on an RCA lead, the camera works with radios, DVD players and OEM navigators across cars, pickups, SUVs and vans, so a fleet running mixed head units can standardise on one camera instead of stocking several.
The metal housing is rated IP68 against water and dust and shockproof against the vibration of a working vehicle. A 90 to 120 degree view covers the width behind the body, wide enough to be useful without the heavy distortion of an ultra-wide lens.
